Opera Promotes Mobile Blogging
Posted by Hendry Lee on 10/20/05 in Blog News, Mobile Blogging
Opera has quietly launched a new community-centered site that allows users to blog, upload and share photos directly from their mobile phones. The community encourages mobile blogging and is attracting an average of 1,000 new members every day.
There is a dominant concentration of members in Europe and Asia, where mobile phone use is at its strongest. Opera allows 300MB of free space to create a Weblog, store photos and create private forums. Users can publish photos from their mobile phone by sending an MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service message), which automatically posts to a blog or adds an image to an online album.
Some users expected to be able to send and publish short video and edit time stamp of an individual post. Albeit the limitation, what Opera is offering will be compelling to many users.
Other features of My Opera Community include newsfeed and themes for your browser.
