Myth 9: Blogging Will Harm My Brand
Posted by Hendry Lee on 07/24/06 in Blog Marketing, Business Blogging
A blog is a powerful tool. Business blogging allows you to use the tool to deliver whatever you want to your readers. It is simple and straightforward.
But with a powerful tool comes responsibility.
If you blog nonsense, you are maligning your own business. In turn, it will do harm to your brand.
A blog itself doesn’t and never will harm a brand. There is a person responsible behind the curtain.
That might be bold, but a simple fact.
This is why you need to consider carefully who you are going to assign the blogging task for your company. He has to be able to represent your company in such a way that is usually happening with the media.
Contrarily, failing to start a blog could harm your business and brand. Think about Dell again. I know, they have started a blog earlier this month but they have a bunch of bad names assigned to them already, waiting to be cleaned.
With your or otherwise, the market are talking. Probably about you or your product or service.
Jump in, talk to them. Clear up the issue. If it is a compliment, show that you notice. That could be a very wise use of a blog.
Communicate, establish your brand and authority and at the same time get more media attention and traffic. Those are another great things people have done with a blog.
A blog is very powerful. Use it wisely to improve your brand and increase your bottom line.
