The Blog Herald, the blog about blogging, is on sale in the 60,000 - 72,000 range or about 36 times monthly revenues. Many bloggers, especially those who promote a blog as a platform for marketers and business owners to publish and earn money, are talking about it.

On the first glance, the price may be too steep. At 36 times monthly revenues, the earning per month is just around the 2,000 mark. Moreover, that’s not pure profit. BlogHerald needs fresh content regularly, which also focuses on quality instead of just quantity.

Finding good blogger who know a lot about the niche, let alone can write in a way that is similar to previous blogger is not that easy. Substract the revenue with the cost to acquire new blogger and other costs. There is not much left.

However, with the amount of traffic BlogHerald receives, I don’t doubt the potential of the blog site. If the new owner can find innovative ways to monetize traffic, then a breakeven under 1-2 years is not impossible. The first challenge, I think is to retain the readerships after the purchase. If they can’t keep up with the content and information readers want, they may lose repeated readers.
